popvideo STAR Competition Rules
You must own the copyright of the video and audio contained in the video clip you submit for the competition. Submission of public domain videos is also permitted, but these will not be considered for the competition until the original ower/performer lays claim to the video.
If you submit a clip that you do not own but wish to nominate for the competition, this video clip must already be available in the public domain (i.e. already posted on YouTube or another public video sharing site). This clip will not be considered part of the competition unless the original owner/performer in the clip claims ownership of the clip and consents to being in the competition. The original owner of the clip can request at any time that the clip be removed from the popvideo STAR website.
If multiple performers are included in the video clip (i.e. a band or duo), all performers must have consented to the clip being used in this competition.
Video clips cannot include nudity or offensive language.
By submitting a video clip you are giving permission to popvideo STAR to use part or all of your video clip on the popvideo STAR web site as well as in promotional videos and news articles.
popvideo STAR is not required to pay any royalties for making your video clip available on the popvideo STAR web site or in promotional videos and news articles.
popvideo STAR does not own your video clip, it is yours. You must contact us if you want your clip removed from the popvideo STAR web site and we will remove it from the site as quickly as possible.
The winner of popvideo STAR will receive a free promo package. This promo package cannot be substituted for any other prize and has no cash value. The following items are included as part of the promo package:
A professionally designed website dedicated to promoting the contest winner and the contest winner's music. The site will be hosted and designed by Highway North Interactive Inc (HNI). HNI will accept input from the user regarding the website design, but HNI has the right to make the final decision regarding all aspects of the website. Furthermore, HNI will maintain full ownership of the website and domain name of the website. Any music or videos hosted on the website will remain the property of the contest winner. HNI also reserves the right to place adverstiments on the website and is entitled to one hundred percent of the advertising revenue.
HNI will host the website created for the contest winner for up to 1 year. HNI reserves the right to restrict the bandwidth usage of the site to 10 gigabytes in data transfer (combined upload/download) if it so chooses to. If the website bandwidth exceeds 10 Gb/month, HNI reserves the right to terminate hosting of the site if it so chooses to. After the one year period, HNI is under no obligation to continue to host the site, but it may choose to do so at its own discretion.
A special forum dedicated to the contest winner will be created for the winner on the popvideo STAR website. This forum will be moderated by HNI and maintained on the website for a minimum of 1 year.
Adversitements will be created for the contest winner to help promote the winner and the winners music. A minimum of two graphical advertisements will be created. The first will link to the website designed by HNI to promote the contest winner. The second advertisement may link to any URL chosen by the contest winner and approved by HNI. If HNI does not approve of the contest winner's URL, the advertisement will not be shown or hosted on any sites. HNI owns the copyright to any advertisement that it creates. HNI also reserves the right to create additional advertisements to promote the contest winners website or the popvideo STAR website if it so chooses to.
The advertisements that HNI creates to promote the contest winner will be shown on HNI's network of websites for 1 year or up to a maximum of 100,000 page impressions. A page impression consists of displaying the advertisement on a webpage. It should also be noted that the number of impressions counting towards the limit are not unique impressions. HNI reserves the right to continue to show the advertisements beyond the 100,000 page impression limit if it so chooses to. If HNI does choose to show the advertisements beyond the 100,000 impression limit, it has the right to stop showing said advertisements at any time.
popvideo STAR reserves the right to remove any clip from the competition that it deems is in violation of the competition rules.
