About Me

Kitty Brucknell
Born in Cheltenham, UK, Kitty Brucknell is the rising country/pop singer who has taken YouTube by storm, creating a loyal and eager fanbase, always impatient for the next video or blog that Kitty puts out. With a powerful four octave range, and with influences as diverse as Christina Aguilera, Nickleback, Martina McBride and Heart, this young singer is already making waves in the industry.

Singing since she could talk, and performing in many stage shows as a child, she slowly developed her unique style which offers something for everyone. "I was always singing, it wasn’t ever a question as to what I wanted to be when I grew up, everyone already knew!" she says and as her reputation grew, she started performing at different events across the country.

In 2002, she was signed to Rock-It Music, which took her under a 2 year development deal, which enabled her to discover her songwriting skills, and to record an album of cover and original material. Around that time, Dreamworks Music was also taking an interest, but as the development deal fell through as the company lost their funding, the stateside interest was put on a hiatus as the executive in charge of the artist was held up on IRS charges for unpaid taxes.

Many would have seen this double disappointment as too much to handle, but it only made Kitty more determined to succeed and instilled a driving force and ambition that can be seen in her performances.

Her famous T-shirt slogan “God sees inner beauty” has become somewhat of a trademark, and Kitty is adamant that it’s definitely something that she lives by. "I wanted to give people trust back in the music industry”, she says. “There are so many artists who are so incredibly talented, but seem to get caught up in their own hype and celebrity status, and I really wanted to bypass all of that and give people a role model that they can believe in. I really want to be known for my music and my performances, rather than who I date, or how many clubs I fall out of at 4 in the morning. Of course I have fun every once in a while, but my real wish is that not only that people will be interested in my music, but respect me for the morals that I uphold and the dignity that I think has been lost on a lot of young artists these days. If I have inspired just one person to go out and live their dreams and still stay true to who they are, then that’s all I care about, it’s just fantastic to have that opportunity."
