1. Who can submit videos?
During the audition round, video submission is open to all users worldwide. Once the audition round is complete, only the finalists will be permitted to submit videos. To submit your video, you will need to have a valid user account. User accounts are free.

2. What are nominations and do I have to be nominated?
Many of the visitors to this site are not musicians and do not upload videos. They are simply music fans and are here to appreciate the talent. If a visitor spots an artist they like on YouTube or one of the other great video sharing sites, they can submit the video to popvideo STAR as a "nomination". It's kind of like being a talent scout and adds another fun dimension to the site. Nominated videos are NOT included in the competition, they are just there for visitors to watch and enjoy. Next to each nomination is a link that the nominated artist can click on to claim the video and enter the competition. Votes for the nominated video prior to the video being claimed by its creator will be carried forward and counted towards the contestant's vote total.

3. Can I submit more than 1 video?
During the audition round, you can submit as many videos as you want. The votes for all of your videos will be combined together. For the elimination rounds, finalists will only be allowed to submit 1 video per round.

4. Who owns the rights to the videos I submit?
You continue to own the full rights to any video that you submit for the competition. For additional information on this subject, please refer to the rules.

5. Why should I register?
Registration is free and easy to do. If you want to submit a video, comment on videos or post in the user forums, you are required to have an account. Having a user account will also allow the system to track your votes and comments.

6. How often can I vote?
There is no limit to the number of times you can vote. Vote as often as you like and for as many of the contestants as you like. The only restriction we have on voting is that users can only cast up to 1 vote per minute.

7. How long does the contest last?
The number of rounds will be determined based on the number of auditions we receive. The first round is the audition round which will last approximately 6 weeks if there are an adequate number of submissions. We are looking for a minimum of 100 contestants. Based on voting results, the top contestants will be selected as finalists. A to be determined number of finalists will be eliminatd during each round following the audition round. Each finalist round will last 1 week. For specific dates, refer to the schedule.

8. I missed the audition round. Will there be another contest?
Yes. Once this contest is complete and the popvideo STAR has been named, we will begin a new competition.

9. Is it true the contest winner will receive a promo package? What is this?
Yes, the winner of popvideo STAR will receive a free promo package. While other contests are trying to offer winners a very small amount of money, the staff at popvideo STAR decided to take a different approach and offer you something more valuable - PUBLICITY. If you are serious about launching a music career, the promo package may be just what you need. The package includes:

• A professionally designed website to promote you and your music
• Free hosting of the website by popVideo Star for a minimum of 1 year
• A dedicated fan forum on the popvideo STAR website for fans to discuss you and your music
• Design of unique advertisements to promote your music
• We will show your promotional advertisements on our network of sites for a minimum of 1 year or up to 100,000 page views

10. What if I don't want the promo package?
Not everyone participating in popvideo STAR is looking to get a music career off the ground, some are just participating because they like to sing and want to have fun. Should you win, you may not be interested in the promo package. No problem. It's available if you want it but if you don't, that's great too. Please note that the promo package has no cash value and cannot be substituted for anything else.
